Junior Web Project Assistant

Remote / Hybrid (London) Training available software

Support live client website and software projects while learning the delivery process properly. Built for someone early in their career who wants real work rather than a course.

About the role

You will sit alongside the people building client websites, portals and dashboards, and take ownership of the parts of a project that are well-defined but genuinely matter — content, testing, checks before a launch, and keeping the trail of decisions straight.

This is deliberately a training role. We expect you to arrive with curiosity and finish tasks you were given, not with a full stack under your belt. Nobody here learned this in the abstract.

What you will do

  • Prepare and load content, images and copy into client sites ahead of review.
  • Test pages and forms across devices and browsers, and write up what breaks clearly enough to act on.
  • Keep project boards, task notes and handover documents current.
  • Run pre-launch checks — links, metadata, forms, accessibility basics.
  • Join client calls to take notes and track what was actually agreed.

What we look for

  • Careful, methodical work. Most of this role is catching what others missed.
  • Clear written English — much of the job is describing a problem so someone else can fix it.
  • Comfort with the web: browsers, files, basic HTML, and a willingness to learn the rest.
  • Reliability over speed. We would rather a task took longer and was right.

Useful, but not required

  • Any exposure to WordPress, Shopify, Figma or a CMS.
  • A personal project, however small, that you can talk through.

What you get

  • Structured training in web delivery, testing and client process.
  • Real client projects from the first month, with review rather than a sink-or-swim handover.
  • A written progression path towards a full delivery role.

How to apply

Email [email protected] with the role title in the subject line. Tell us briefly what you have done and why this one interests you. A link to something you have built or run is worth more to us than a polished CV.

We reply to every application with a decision and a reason, normally within a week. Skillops is an equal opportunity employer: we consider applicants regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, marital status, pregnancy, race, religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation. If you need an adjustment at any stage of the process, say so and we will arrange it.
